Last-minute ‘Deep South Solar Eclipse’ tour launched for UK eclipse-chasers
12-day tour from UK-based tour operator departing Atlanta will view eclipse from Nashville
International eclipse-chasers can still visit the USA this summer to see the Total Eclipse of the Sun on August 21 – but there are only a few places.
Although all eclipse-themed trips to the USA this summer are booked-up, and hotels on the verge of being sold-out across the country for the August 21 event, Grand American Adventures has just announced a special departure for people to take in the awesome natural spectacle.
It’s in response to what the specialist North American small group tour company calls “exceptional demand”. But you’ll have to move quickly – there are only EIGHT spaces on this £2,439 tour, which departs Atlanta on August 11, 2017 for 12 days.
As well as viewing the eclipse from Nashville, Tennessee, the trip will trace the roots of American music and explore the unique cultural landscape and fascinating history of the Deep South that gave birth to the blues, jazz and rock ‘n’ roll. The tour will also visit New Orleans, Memphis, and Elvis’ birthplace at Tupelo.
At Nashville on August 21 the tour leader
will ensure best position in these evocative surroundings to take in the rare celestial wonder of a total eclipse of the sun.”
Eclipse safety glasses will be provided, as will mobility; the tour leaders will have the latest weather reports and tracking info as well as a private vehicle to seek clear skies as close as possible to the centerline of the Path of Totality.
