Come on a special eclipse-themed expedition to totality with us!
Will you be one of the few to experience totality on December 4, 2021 in Antarctica?
WhenIsTheNextEclipse.com is pleased to announce that editor Jamie Carter will be lecturing onboard a special eclipse cruise with Albatross Expeditions as part of a 15-day tour of Antarctica.
Entitled ‘Solar Eclipse in South Georgia & Antarctica’, the cruise will depart from Ushuaia, Argentina – on a brand new state-of-the-art expedition ship called the Ocean Victory – to experience a 2-minute totality 11 degrees above the horizon just after dawn from east of the South Orkney Islands.
All eclipse-chasers will get solar eclipse glasses and a waterproof jacket to keep.
It’s selling out very quickly and there are limited spaces available – so if you want to come I have negotiated a special 5% discount for WhenIsTheNextEclipse.com readers. Please get in touch with me via email on jamie[at]whenisthenexteclipse.com (replace the [at] with @ when emailing) for the discount code, as well as details of how to get a price from Albatros Expeditions (there are a lot of different options).
A 20% deposit is required when booking.
Carter will be lecturing about solar eclipses several times during the cruise:
1 – The Antarctica Eclipse: what to expect on 4 December (pre-eclipse briefing)
2 – From Stonehenge and Angkor Wat to Captain Cook and Einstein: how eclipses have shaped human history
3 – When is the next eclipse? A traveller’s guide to eclipse-chasing 2023-2039
