10 places you can still find a hotel room for the Total Solar Eclipse

With only just over 100 days to go until a Total Eclipse of the Sun across the USA, hotels in some key observation locations are sold out BUT there is significant availability in the eastern part of the USA.

According to figures from travel search engine Trivago.com see by WhenIsTheNextEclipse.com, the following places still had hotel rooms for the night of August 20 – the night BEFORE the Total Solar Eclipse – earlier today.

1 Portland, Oregon (just north of the Path of Totality)

2 Riverton, Wyoming (one room remaining!)

3 Grand Island, Nebraska (one room remaining!)
Hotels Available: 1/35
4 Kansas City, Missouri (get to the northern suburbs to see Totality)

5 Columbia, Missouri
Hotels Available: 18/43
6 St Louis, Missouri (get to the southern suburbs to see Totality)

If you need a hotel, consider Missouri – Columbia, but also Kansas City and St Louis (though be very careful in these two cities because the Path of Totality only grazes them, so you will still need some transport to enjoy a long Totality). Nashville in Tennessee still has plenty of rooms, as do Greenville and Columbia in South Carolina.
